Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy explains what information Zeno (“Zeno”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use zenocourse.com and the Zeno app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Zeno you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID.
- Profile and activity — the name, avatar and languages you choose, Spaces you create or join, friends, messages you send, study progress and vocabulary.
- Voice and AI features — in Spaces, your audio is sent live to the other participants. When you use the AI Tutor or Voice Mode, your text or speech is sent to our AI provider to generate a reply; Voice Mode transcripts and practice reports are saved to your account so you can review them.
- Payments — if you buy a subscription, payments are handled by our payment processors (such as Razorpay and PayPal). We receive confirmation of the payment, not your full card details.
- Technical data — IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, pages visited, time spent, and error logs. We use this to run, secure and improve the service.
2. How we use information
- To provide the service: sign-in, Spaces, messaging, AI tutoring, subscriptions.
- To keep Zeno safe: preventing abuse, spam and fraud, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
- To understand usage and improve features.
- To show advertising, as described below.
We do not sell your personal information.
Push notifications
If you tap “Turn on alerts”, your browser gives us a push address for that device, which we store with your account and time zone. We use it only to send a few short alerts — when someone starts a speaking room, an optional daily practice reminder, and (only if you switch it on) when someone you follow comes online. We never send alerts at night in your time zone and send at most a few a day. You can turn them off anytime in Menu → Notifications (“Turn off all”) or in your browser’s site settings; the push address is then deactivated.
3. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser’s local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences like theme and language, and understand how the site is used. Our advertising partners also use cookies, as explained in the next section. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may stop working.
4. Advertising — Google AdSense
Zeno uses Google AdSense to show ads. Ads are never shown during live calls or Voice Mode.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads and related cookies are used, through a Google-certified consent message.
5. Service providers
We share information only as needed to run Zeno, with providers such as Google (sign-in, AI and advertising), our real-time audio infrastructure, payment processors, push-notification services and our hosting provider. They may process data in countries other than your own.
6. Other users
Your display name, avatar and what you say in Spaces and messages are visible to the people you interact with. Please don’t share personal information you want to keep private.
7. Data retention and your rights
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed for legal, security and billing purposes. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to delete your account, by emailing gamezx@zenocourse.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR.
8. Children
Zeno lets you talk with people you don’t know and is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. If you believe a child is using Zeno, please contact us and we will remove the account.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service can be completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app.
